He got it registered with the Sierra Leone government by October 09. Federico’s journey to help children had not been a easy one.
I have taken this opportunity to use this blog to raise awareness about his foundation.

It all started with Johnny…
Johnny a 4 year old kid was found abandoned in Federico’s neighbourhood. Feeling sorry for the child, he brought Johnny back home. Johnny was terribly malnourised with watery eyes and sores in his mouth. Federico managed to nurse him back to health. When this happened, news spread around the village about a mysterious white man helping children. More little hands came knocking on the door. This is how Candiano Foundation was born.

Ramatu, a factual Cinderella
Cinderella may have only existed in fairy tales for children. But for Ramatu, its a real life situation. Ramatu is a case of serious child abuse. The problem started when Ramatu’s natural mother passed away. Ramatu’s father remarried and all hell broke loose. Ramatu had been verbally and physically abused. She was made to do strenous housework. The ten year old had to carry heavy wood logs and water for more than 2 miles. Candiano foundation got to know about this and managed to rescue this little Cinderella. Now she is living and studying under the safe hands of this foundation. Ramatu now aspires to be a banker someday…

Musu, an abandoned gem stone
Musu another abandoned child. In Sierra Leone, when prematured parents cannot hold responsibility for their little ones, they just dump them someplace. That was Musu’s case. Musu was 6 years old when she was abandoned. She is a healthy little girl who lives for dancing. Together with her cousin Hawa, they wo
uld danc for hours. With the help of this foundation, now thr girls have a place to live and study.
Musu’s parents refused to feed her proper meals. There had bee stories where the parents would eat a proper meal with rice and chicken and feed the leftovers to Musu.
What the foundation does
The foundation provides school medical supplies and education for the children. Due to a lack of funding, they could only provide for merely 10 children. More and more little hands come knocking everyday. The foundation need to be made aware of. Help them, donate what you can, and let another child live. The foundation will be starting a new project of adopting orphans from overseas. Your help is much needed.
